Rob Feenstra was born into a family of furniture makers. With his great-grandfather, grandfather and father deeply rooted in this craft, a sense of style, craftsmanship and interior design became part of his world from an early age.
After completing secondary school, Rob pursued a degree in international trade. As part of his studies, he gained valuable experience through apprenticeships in England, California (Los Angeles) and Spain, further shaping his international outlook and understanding of the design industry.
Throughout his youth, Rob frequently accompanied his father to leading international trade fairs, including Milan, Cologne, Birmingham, Shanghai, Singapore and Guangzhou. It was here that he developed a strong international network and deepened his knowledge of the global furniture and design market, a foundation that continues to influence his work today.
The vision behind the studio
Rob Feenstra is the founder and creative director of Studio Rob Feenstra. As a designer, he is known for his intuitive approach, strong spatial awareness and attention to detail. His work is defined by a refined aesthetic in which balance, calm and functionality play a central role.
Since 2016, Rob has been active in the international project world, designing interiors for private residences, companies and hospitality environments. His expertise spans interior design, bespoke furniture, lighting and material selection, allowing him to oversee projects from concept to completion.
Rob approaches each project with a strong focus on understanding the client. By translating personal wishes into thoughtfully designed spaces, he creates interiors that feel both distinctive and timeless. His work can be found across the Netherlands as well as internationally, including projects in Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, London, Los Angeles, Morocco and the South of France.
A refined international perspective
After establishing the studio in Amsterdam, momentum quickly followed. Studio Rob Feenstra grew into a design practice known for creating refined, tailor-made interiors for private residences, companies and hospitality projects in the Netherlands and abroad.
Working closely with an international clientele, the studio approaches each project as a fully considered process, from concept and spatial design to material selection and bespoke detailing. A strong focus on craftsmanship, balance and timeless aesthetics defines every interior.
Over the years, Studio Rob Feenstra has realised numerous successful projects, collaborating with premium furniture and interior brands such as Minotti, J. Adams & Co and Fendi Casa. Today, the studio’s work can be found not only throughout the Netherlands, but also internationally, including projects in Dubai, London and the Balearic Islands.
